A little blog fast
I think Morning Song's suggestion to fast and pray is a great idea. Since I can't fast from food (with the nursing), the only other thing I can think of that I do regularly that is not essential to my family functioning is blogging. (Too bad I couldn't fast from washing dishes!) So I'm going to take 7 days away from blog land to pray about some decisions for the baby. I promise to come visit and catch up next week. Although I will miss you, I'm looking forward to having this time of focussed prayer. Pray it will be a time of growth with the Father. Have a great week!

My comments seem to be having trouble...didn't post yesterday adn this is the second shot today...let's see:
I will pray for you during this time that God will guide your decisions and give you wisdom. I think it is a wonderful idea to set aside purposeful time to seek Him.
I came across your blog recently as I was reading someone else's, and I noticed a few books on your suggested reading list. The author of a couple of them was my Bible Study teacher these past two years, and her husband is the assoc. pastor of our church (he just announced his retirement, however!). I enjoy browsing blogs from time to time, but it was an especially encouraging thing to come across someone who shares something in common with me. Heirs of the Covenant is a WONDERFUL book, and I read through Stepping Heavenward (again!) with the Susan a year ago, as well. My 2 daughters have both studied under her as she wrote "True," her newest study for middle school girls. Such a blessing...
I am really enjoying your blog! I just started blogging myself, so I'm new to the blog world. I can't tell you how encouraging it has been to me to know that there ARE other women out there trying to practice their faith and live a life in harmony with what they believe, before The One they believe in! The world wants us to think we're alone, but in reading the thoughts of other godly women, I am reminded that that is not true, and what a happy thought!
God bless you this week as you "fast!" I think you're doing a wise thing to pray and be deliberate in your thinking. I spent the first year of our son's life (4 years ago) praying that "one day it would be worth it!" (tongue in cheek!) He was a very unhappy baby! But now he is the joy of my life, and every day I know...it was all so very worth it. I know you know that already, but I just wanted to offer that encouragement to you today. One day at a time!

I will pray for you during this time of blog fasting and praying. I pray that God will grant you peace with all your decisions that you make. I pray that God will continue to give you patience and strength. I pray that the Lord grants you many, many hours of uninterrupted sleep! :) God will give you the desires of your heart! I pray that the Lord grants the baby happiness and contentment, a full belly and lots of good sleep!
My prayers have been with you and will continue to be!
Blessings!
Oh I did this and it was great for my family and spiritual life. Blessings!
