Our version of "Blessed Be the Name"

Tonight just before the kids went to bed, they asked their Daddy to play the guitar for them. His second or third choice was "Blessed Be the Name". At this point the kids were dancing and running in endless circles (how do they do that?). So, to the kids' oblivion, we composed our own version. It went something like this:

Blessed be your name
When the kitty can't find her litterbox
When Toot never has matching socks
Blessed be your name.

Blessed be your name
When baby screams and wants it all
When I trip on legos, toys and balls
Blessed be your name.

Every blessing you pour out, I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name.

Blessed be your name
When my clean carpet gets a big mud stain
When they need fresh air but there is rain
Blesssed by your name.

Blessed be your name
When she has three dirty diapers in one day
Not one, not two stinkies, but three today
Blessed be your name.

Every blessing you pour out,I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name.

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, Blessed be your name.

HOW AWESOME!! :) LOL!

That should be framed and on the wall in EVERY mom's house! And put, "just so", in a place where we just tend to forget that "He gives and takes away, and our heart MUST chose to say, blessed be Thy Name."

I really think the Lord is trying to tell me something through that song because we sang it at church yesterday and it was on repeat in T's room this morning (Veggie Tale Style, of course)...and has been stuck in my head ALL day...and low and behold, I find it again on your blog! :)

It's one of THOSE days for me (remember when we discussed at length about certain months and the "evil ovary"? It's THAT time again for me...guess it was bound to happen sometime! UGG!

Anyway, thanks for the awesome new lyrics to one of my favorite songs! :) Well done! I think I'll write those down for myself to reflect upon.
